Mike Peters
Mike Peters is one of the
wires editors at the
Anchorage Daily News who
produces the Nation/World
section. He also writes
features and contributes to
blogs about food and
gardening.
Previously, he was assistant
international editor at the
Dallas Morning News, where
he was night editor for
World pages and created a
Sunday feature titled
Dateline, a snapshot of an
interesting place or event
around the world. He wrote a
Sunday column about
newspaper comics for the
Dallas Morning News for
several years.
He was an Atlantik-Brucke
(Atlantic-Bridge) fellow in
Germany during the 2005
elections.
Earlier, he was the editor
and publisher of Texas Gulf
Coast Gardening magazine and
author of The Texas Garden
Yearbook. He has been an
editor at magazines
including New Age Journal,
Ultra, Houston Metropolitan
and Houston Home and Garden.
He earned a bachelor of arts
degree in journalism from
the University of Houston,
where he was editor of the
campus daily newspaper in
1978.
