Jack Hickel is a board
certified family physician
working for Native health in
Anchorage, Alaska. He also
has a diploma in Tropical
Medicine from Wits
University in South Africa.
For 15 years, from 1981 to
1997, he worked in Swaziland
as a medical missionary,
helping to run hospitals and
bush clinics. He was the
medical director of RFM
Hospital, Emkhuzweni Health
Center, and 12 bush clinics.
and worked closely with the
Government of Swaziland
setting health care policy
and guidelines. He was also
the personal physician to
the King of Swaziland and
the Royal Family. He still
does annual medical trips to
various countries around the
world and is currently the
assistant medical director
of the Dept of Family
Medicine at Southcentral
Foundation.
