Nancy Eliason

Nancy enjoys international travel and has spent time in 35 countries/protectorates, usually on educationally oriented tours, not just to the usual tourist attractions and/or resorts. Hence she joined the Alaska World Affairs Council when she moved to Anchorage from Sitka in 1999. She is presently serving her third 3-year term on the Board and her sixth 1-year term as secretary. In addition to serving on various committees, she provides a personal tour of the History of Alaska gallery at the Anchorage Museum to our visiting World Affairs speakers. She attends the annual WACA National Conferences and has been on the following trips offered through the Philadelphia WAC: Cuba (2002), South American with Sir Eldon (2003), and the Arabian Coast with Ambassador Mark Johnson (2007.) In addition, she was selected to participate in the WACA sponsored Leadership Mission to South Korea in 2008.

Other interests and activities:
Nancy is a docent in the history gallery of the Anchorage Museum and volunteers with the Director of Collections where her assignments include accessioning new acquisitions (describing artifacts, measuring, and noting the condition,) taking and processing photographs of artifacts, and inventorying.

She also volunteers on various committees of the Anchorage Concert Association and the Anchorage Opera Guild.
