Nancy Eliason
Nancy
enjoys international travel
and has spent time in 35
countries/protectorates,
usually on educationally
oriented tours, not just to
the usual tourist
attractions and/or resorts.
Hence she joined the Alaska
World Affairs Council when
she moved to Anchorage from
Sitka in 1999. She is
presently serving her third
3-year term on the Board and
her sixth 1-year term as
secretary. In addition to
serving on various
committees, she provides a
personal tour of the History
of Alaska gallery at the
Anchorage Museum to our
visiting World Affairs
speakers. She attends the
annual WACA National
Conferences and has been on
the following trips offered
through the Philadelphia
WAC: Cuba (2002), South
American with Sir Eldon
(2003), and the Arabian
Coast with Ambassador Mark
Johnson (2007.) In addition,
she was selected to
participate in the WACA
sponsored Leadership Mission
to South Korea in 2008.
Other interests and
activities:
Nancy is a docent in the
history gallery of the
Anchorage Museum and
volunteers with the Director
of Collections where her
assignments include
accessioning new
acquisitions (describing
artifacts, measuring, and
noting the condition,)
taking and processing
photographs of artifacts,
and inventorying.
She also volunteers on
various committees of the
Anchorage Concert
Association and the
Anchorage Opera Guild. |
