Gary Boubel is a Vice
President and Projects
Director for BP Exploration
Alaska . He started his
career in 1980 with ARCO Oil
& Gas Company in Dallas,
Texas. Gary has 28 years of
projects and engineering
experience and has worked on
major projects around the
world including the Gulf of
Mexico, offshore China and
Indonesia, and Alaska. In
1998 he moved to Moscow,
Russia as the General
Project Manager for the
Caspian Pipeline Consortium
(CPC) and managed design,
construction, and startup of
a 935 mile 1.5 MBD crude oil
export system from western
Kazakhstan across southern
Russia to a new terminal on
the Black Sea. In 2003 he
moved to Houston where he
was responsible for the
completion of the Mardi Gras
Transportation System in the
deepwater Gulf of Mexico, a
major oil and gas pipeline
system. In January 2007 Gary
took on his current role
with responsibility for BP's
Alaska North Slope Renewal (ANSR)
Program and BPXA projects.
Gary is married to Pam and
has four children, a son who
is a 2nd Lt. in the US
Marine Corp, a daughter in
college in California, and
twin boys just starting
college this fall. In his
spare time he likes to play
golf, bicycle, read and
travel.
