Alaska World Affairs is a non-partisan, non-profit organization focused on hosting meaningful, informative and interactive international education programs for the people of Alaska.

Successfully fulfilling that mission since 1958, we rely on contributions from generous and active supporters, like you, to improve and expand our program delivery to reach more Alaskans, in more ways, with every event.

The council was founded in 1958 by the late Evangeline Atwood with the conviction that better community education in world affairs is necessary for sound democratic citizenship.

Opportunities for Students

AKWorld’s programming for students allows us to cultivate curiosity about the world in Alaskan youth and expose students to the wide range of opportunities that become available with global perspective.

WorldQuest

Academic WorldQuest, the World Affairs Councils of America’s flagship youth education program, is a fun, fast-paced team competition for high school students.
